Bristol Haiku

Bristol race is here
Joy and anticipation
Short track action now

Martin on the pole
Beloved veteran will try
To end his bad luck

Green flag it now flies
Brightly colored cars around
Sometimes too much so

Occasional spin
Bump bump get out of my way
Tempers start to rise

Kyle Busch is fast
Snickers bar with steel plate look
Best of all the field

Little drama here
Shrub too good for all the rest
Fans let out a boo

So predictable
Five hundred lap dull parade
Nothing much happens

Jeff Gordon runs well
Still seeks first win in long time
Yet points lead he holds

Calm comes to this place
All again right with the world
Johnson in top twelve

Junior sucking wind
Car never to his liking
Tony Jr. lame

Race just like haiku
Locked in pattern with no change
Martinsville save us

How cool! I recently saw a post on another automotive site (not NASCAR related) in which they were creating Haiku. I was thinking a NASCAR related Haiku would be interesting. I’ve only done them a time or two (way back in my school years), so I would be quite rusty. You’ve got some good ones there! This one is my favorite.

It brings some vivid images to mind. Nice job!

    Nice!

I cannnot believe that Bristol is now one of my least favorite races. Drivers like it? Who cares? We pay the friggin’ bills! (Well, sort of.)

    Martinsville save us–indeed.
