A few random rumblings before settling in to watch today’s Las Vegas Nationwide race:
- Toyota’s been having a whopper full of engine woes lately. I’m not altogether certain how large that is, but it’s a lot. That duly noted, Kyle Busch’s engine problem was different than what has plagued the other teams.
- Speaking of Shrub, nice job messing with everyone’s mind by grabbing the pole even though he’ll have to start at the back. Expect to see a whole lot of rear view mirror driving with people looking for the #18.
- Blah qualifying run for Dale Jr., but fast practice times. Perhaps this will be the weekend it really is ol’ Rocket 88, and for the Junior Nation not a moment too soon.
- Speaking of blah qualifying runs… look, Matt Kenseth, we know you like playing possum and sneaking up through the field, but really. Getting in on points? Hoo boy.
Catch up with you after the race.

Okay, I saw most of the Nationwide race, and I just want to know…what in the HECK happened today? Maybe from now on the cup guys will leave the Nationwide series to the Nationwide regulars.
